Panicos Charalambous was born in Nicosia in September 1959. He is a graduate of Frederick Technical School in electronics and initially worked for electronic companies. He then studied journalism, advertising and public relations at Europa College. He has worked as a journalist since 1989, at Eleftheria tis Gnomis as a feature writer, at Proina Nea as parliamentary correspondent and later as assistant editor, at Eleftherotypia as parliamentary correspondent and at Alitihia as parliamentary and political correspondent.

He joined the Phileleftheros group in 2000, initially as a reporter and then editor of the financial newspaper Neos Typos. Since 2003 he has been finance editor of Phileleftheros. He has served as an elected member of Dali Community Council and chairman of the Cultural Committee.

He was also a founding member of the interim committee which successfully pushed to have Dali given the status of a municipality. For the past five years he has been a member of the management committee of the provident fund of the Union of Journalists. He is married to Eleni Charalambous and they have two daughters, Anna and Ioanna. Back
